Mike Casey (labor Leader)
Mike Casey (born January 6, 1958) is the president of the San Francisco Labor Council and the former president of the 12,000-member Local 2 chapter of UNITE HERE, the union that represents hotel and restaurant workers in San Francisco. He was elected president of the union, Local 2, in 1994 and succeeded by Anand Singh in June 2015. Casey has a reputation as a hard-nosed negotiator and a creative union leader. In 1994, he led a successful 73-day strike to reach an agreement with the Mark Hopkins hotel. He led seven-year battles to unionize the Parc 55 and the San Francisco Marriott hotels, and a nine-year crusade to reach an agreement with the Sir Francis Drake hotel. In 2002, after UNITE HERE won an agreement with the San Francisco Marriott hotels, Marriott executive Hank Biddle said about Casey at a banquet to mark the agreement, "The things you said you were going to deliver, you delivered. Mike Casey (basketball)
Mike Casey (May 26, 1948-April 9, 2009) was a basketball player for the University of Kentucky Wildcats from 1967 to 1971. Casey was a part of what some consider to be the best recruiting class in UK history (a class which included 11 players, notably Dan Issel, Mike Pratt, Casey, and Terry Mills). Casey suffered a severely broken leg between his junior and senior year. Because of this, he had to redshirt what would have been his senior year, which may have cost UK a national championship in 1970. Casey was chosen in 1970 by the Chicago Bulls and later in 1971 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but never played professionally. Career Casey, Kentucky's 'Mr. Basketball' in 1966, finished his career averaging 18.7 points per game, in 82 games played. The 18.7 points per game he averaged for his career ranks ninth in UK history, one-tenth of a point below Jamal Mashburn. Mike Casey (hurler)
Michael L. Casey (born 25 October 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays as a full-back for club side Na Piarsaigh and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. His brother, Peter Casey, also plays for both teams. Playing career College Casey first came to prominence as a hurler with Ardscoil Rís in Limerick. On 22 February 2014, he won a Harty Cup medal following a 2-13 to 0-04 defeat of Scoil na Trionoide Naofa. University During his studies at the University of Limerick, Casey was selected for the college's senior hurling team on a number of occasions.
