Michael Berry (athlete)
Michael Berry (born December 10, 1991) is an American sprinter, who specializes in the 400 meters. Berry was part of the USA team that won the gold medal in the 4 × 400 m relay at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics. A native of Seattle, Washington, Berry attended Rainier Beach High School. Sir Michael Victor Berry, (born 14 March 1941), is a mathematical physicist at the University of Bristol, England. He is known for the Berry phase, a phenomenon observed e.g. in quantum mechanics and optics, as well as Berry connection and curvature. He specialises in semiclassical physics (asymptotic physics, quantum chaos), applied to wave phenomena in quantum mechanics and other areas such as optics. Education and early life Berry was brought up in a Jewish family and was the son of a London taxi driver and a dressmaker. Michael Christian Berry (born November 10, 1970) is an American conservative radio talk show host based in Houston, Texas. A former member of the Houston City Council, Berry has worked as an attorney, a real estate developer, and a restaurateur. Early life Berry was born and raised in Orange, Texas. William Michael Berry, Baron Hartwell MBE (18 May 1911 – 3 April 2001), was a British newspaper proprietor and journalist. Life and career Berry was the second son of Mary Agnes (Corns) and William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose, and was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford. Berry followed his brother Seymour Berry, 2nd Viscount Camrose, as Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the ''Daily'' and ''Sunday Telegraph'' newspapers. He remained in this role until the takeover by Conrad Black in 1986. He was also the backer behind the arts review, ''X'' magazine. Berry was awarded a life peerage as Baron Hartwell, ''of Peterborough Court in the City of London'' on 19 January 1968. Mike Berry (born Michael Hubert Bourne, 24 September 1942) is an English singing, singer and actor. He is known for his top ten hits "Don't You Think It's Time" (1963) and "The Sunshine of Your Smile" (1980) in a singing career spanning nearly 60 years. Timothy Mike "Cannonball" Berry (August 23, 1911 – May 2, 1992), also nicknamed "Showboat Mike", was an American baseball pitcher in the Negro leagues. Early life Timothy Mike Berry was born on August 23, 1911, in Kansas City, Kansas. Playing career Barnstorming/Independent/Minor Leagues Berry began his career with the Thatcher's Colts, a Black semi pro team sponsored by a local Kansas City mortuary. A short time later, he joined the barnstorming Van Dyke's Colored House of David in 1935 as a pitcher, where he was often advertised as their "ace hurler". On August 12, 1937, Berry garnered attention in Vancouver, British Columbia when he struck out 20 batters and allowed 1 hit in a 3–0 victory over a local all star team. Mike O'Berry
Preston Michael O'Berry (born April 20, 1954) is an American former professional baseball player and minor league manager. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1979 to 1985. Major league career O'Berry was drafted at the age of 21 by the Boston Red Sox in the twenty-second round of the 1975 amateur player draft. He made his major league debut with the Red Sox on April 18, 1979. At the end of the 1979 season, O'Berry was traded to the Chicago Cubs as the player to be named later in an earlier deal the Red Sox made for Ted Sizemore. O'Berry continued to move from team to team after one or two years, serving as a journeyman backup catcher for the Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, California Angels, New York Yankees, and Montreal Expos before retiring after the 1985 season at the age of 31.
