Mike Arthur
Mike Arthur (born May 7, 1968) is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Arthur was born Michael Scott Arthur on May 7, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Arthur grew up in Houston, Texas, and played football at Spring Woods High School. Career Arthur was drafted in the fifth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and spent his first two seasons with the team. The next two seasons he spent with the New England Patriots. His final two seasons were played with the Green Bay Packers, including a victory in Super Bowl XXXI. He played at the collegiate level at Texas A&M University. Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost Lineman (American football), lineman of the offensive line on a football team's Offense (sports), offense. The center is also the player who passes (or "Snap (gridiron football), snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each Play from scrimmage, play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. 1991 NFL Draft
The 1991 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 21–22, 1991, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. No teams elected to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. The first six selections of the draft were defensive players, the most in draft history. It began with the Dallas Cowboys using the first overall pick to select Russell Maryland.
