Mike Adams (wide Receiver)
Michael Christopher Adams (born March 25, 1974) is a former gridiron football wide receiver and return specialist from Grand Prairie (Dalworth) Texas. Mike Adams played high school football for the Sam Houston Texans in Arlington, Texas. Mike was a 3x first-team all district selection (89-91). He was selected as the district 8-5A MVP his senior season that ultimately saw him gather all-state honors that same season. Mike attended the University of Texas at Austin (92-96). Mike became a 4 year starter for a Texas Longhorn team that won conference championships in 1994, 1995, and 1996. Upon leaving school, Adams held every receiving, kick and punt return, and all purpose yards records. Only Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson have accumulated more yards than Adams. Mike was inducted into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in October 2021. 1997 NFL Draft
The 1997 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 19–20, 1997, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft this year. This draft was notable for its high-profile offensive linemen. The first overall selection was Orlando Pace, who appeared in seven consecutive Pro Bowls from 2000 to 2006 and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2016. Tarik Glenn was selected 19th overall and was also named to three Pro Bowls. New Braunfels ( ) is a city in Comal and Guadalupe counties in the U.S. state of Texas known for its German Texan heritage. It is the seat of Comal County.
