Mika Johnson
Mika Johnson (born July 10, 1975) is a multimedia artist mainly known for his work with virtual reality. His work combines dream-like narratives, mythos, ritual, and biodiversity. Biography Johnson was born in San Diego, California and graduated from Oberlin College in 2000. Johnson's earlier works were mostly documentary and fiction films. This includes a 15 part web series "The Amerikans," which features three- to five-minute performative documentaries, and "Forever Professor": a 30-minute documentary on Mark McKinley, a college professor who amassed the world's largest collection of talking clocks. In July 2017, the film was released online. In 2018, Johnson directed a virtual reality adaptation of Franz Kafka's ''The Metamorphosis'' produced by the Goethe Institut Prague, along with four short virtual documentaries featuring Reiner Stach, the author of a biography of Kafka. It has been held in Lviv each September since 1994 and is organized by the Publishers' Forum, an NGO founded after the success of the initial Lviv book forum. Houzz is an American website, online community and software for architecture; interior design and decorating; landscape design and home improvement. It was founded in 2009 and is based in Palo Alto, California. History Houzz was founded as an online platform in February 2009 by Adi Tatarko and her husband Alon Cohen, in response to the challenges they faced with their own home remodeling project. They found it difficult to communicate their vision for their home, and to find the right professionals for their project. Cohen coded the initial website himself, and they asked a few Bay Area architects to upload their portfolios, to give home renovators ideas for their projects. ''Tholu bommalata'' is the shadow puppet theatre tradition of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Polynesian navigation or Polynesian wayfinding was used for thousands of years to enable long voyages across thousands of kilometers of the Pelagic zone, open Pacific Ocean.
