Mihăileni is a commune in BotoÈ™ani County, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Mihăileni, Pârâu Negru and RogojeÈ™ti, with a total population of 2,283 as of 2011. RogojeÈ™ti and the former village of SinăuÈ›ii de Jos (now part of Mihăileni) are located in Bukovina, while the rest of Mihăileni and Pârâu Negru are in Western Moldavia. At the 2011 census, 83.4% of inhabitants were Romanians and 14.3% Ukrainians. At the 2002 census, 89% were Romanian Orthodox and 8.7% Pentecostal. Mihăileni ( hu, CsÃkszentmihály or colloquially ''Szentmihály'', Hungarian pronunciation: , meaning "St. Michael of CsÃk") is a commune in Harghita County, Romania. The commune lies in the Székely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania. Component villages The commune is composed of four villages: Location The centre village is situated in Upper Ciuc along the no. 124 county road. Its inner area is crossed by the Racu (Rákos) Stream. The village was formed at the meeting point of this stream and the Csorgó Stream springing from the KÅ‘d Mountain. The KÅ‘d Peak (845 m) rises to the northeast, the KÅ‘csonka Peak (886 m) to the north; the Frumoasa Stream crosses the border in the south. In the west it is bordered by the Pagan Mountain (1,195 m), KÅ‘nyak and the Livezi Peak. Several mineral water springs can be found here. ȘimoneÈ™ti ( hu, Siménfalva, ) is a commune in Harghita County, Romania. It lies in the Székely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania. Component villages The commune is composed of fourteen villages: History The villages were historically part of the Székely Land area of Transylvania. Mózes Székely, prince of Transylvania, had the center of his estates here. The villages belonged to Udvarhelyszék district until the administrative reform of Transylvania in 1876, when they fell within Udvarhely County in the Kingdom of Hungary. After the Treaty of Trianon of 1920, they became part of Romania and fell within Odorhei County during the interwar period. In 1940, the second Vienna Award granted the Northern Transylvania to Hungary and they were held by Hungary until 1944.
