Mihai Brestyan
Mihai Brestyan (born Mihai Breștian; 10 July 1953 in Timișoara) is a Romanian artistic gymnastics coach and the former head coach of the Australian Gymnastics national team and former USA Gymnastics national team coach. He has coached multiple athletes to elite successes, including Olympic Champion and six-time Olympic Medalist, Aly Raisman, and World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist, Alicia Sacramone. Gymnastics Australia (GA) is the governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Australia. History Gymnastics in Australia is thought to have originated in the early 20th century by eastern European immigrants. It wasn't until after World War I when Australia was in the Great Depression that people started turning to organisations like the YWCA for support. From these community-based groups, the sport started to flourish. Around the same time, gymnastics was included in the school curriculum at Geelong Grammar, Wesley College and Carey Grammar. Australians participated in the sport for the first time at an Olympic Games at the Melbourne Games in Melbourne. The body was founded on 8 September 1949 as the Australian Gymnastic Federation. Aly Raisman
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25, 1994) is a retired American artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 " Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, which won their respective team competitions. At the 2012 Olympics in London, she won gold medals in the team and floor competitions, as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, making her the most decorated American gymnast at the Games. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team event, making her and teammate Gabby Douglas the only Americans with back-to-back team gold medals. Raisman also won silver medals in the individual all-around and for floor exercise. Alicia Sacramone
Alicia Marie Sacramone Quinn (; born December 3, 1987) is a retired American artistic gymnast. She won a silver medal with the United States team at the 2008 Summer Olympics and is the 2005 World Champion on floor exercise and the 2010 World Champion on the vault. With a total of eleven World Championship and Olympic medals, Sacramone is the fourth most decorated U.S. female gymnast, behind Simone Biles (30), Shannon Miller (16), and Nastia Liukin (14). Early years Sacramone was born in Boston on December 3, 1987, to parents Fred, an orthodontist, and Gail Sacramone, a hairstylist and salon owner. Burlington is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 26,377 at the 2020 census. History It is believed that Burlington takes its name from the English town of Bridlington, Yorkshire, but this has never been confirmed.
