Miguel Torruco
Miguel Torruco (1920–1956) was a Mexican film actor.Goble p.8 He was one of the stars of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema until his sudden death at the age of thirty six after falling off a horse. He was married to the actress María Elena Marqués. Palenque, Chiapas
Palenque is a city and municipality located in the north of the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The city was named almost 200 years before the nearby Mayan ruins were discovered in the 18th century. The area has a significant indigenous population, mostly of the Ch'ol people, a Mayan descendant. The city is the only urban area in a municipality of over 600 communities, and is surrounded by rainforest. Deforestation has had dramatic effects on the local environment, with howler monkeys occasionally seen in the city as they seek food. While most of the municipality's population is economically marginalized, working in agriculture, the Palenque archeological site is one of the most important tourist attractions for the area and the state of Chiapas. Orizaba () is a city and municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located 20 km west of its sister city Córdoba, and is adjacent to Río Blanco and Ixtaczoquitlán, on Federal Highways 180 and 190. The Golden Age of Mexican cinema ( es, Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano) is a period in the history of the Cinema of Mexico between 1930 and 1969 when the Mexican film industry reached high levels of production, quality and economic success of its films, besides having gained recognition internationally. It began with the film ''Allá en el Rancho Grande'' (1936), directed by Fernando de Fuentes. In 1939, during World War II, the film industry in the US and Europe declined, because the materials previously destined for film production now were for the new arms industry. María Elena Marqués
María Elena Marqués Rangel (14 December 1926 – 11 November 2008) was a Mexican actress and singer who was a star during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. Biography She was born on December 14, 1926 in Mexico City. She was discovered by the film director Fernando de Fuentes, who was her neighbor. Her first film was ''Dos corazones y un tango'' (1942) where she performed with the Argentine tango singer Andrés Falgás. In 1943 she worked in '' Doña Bárbara'' with María Félix, ''Romeo y Julieta'', with Cantinflas, and ''Así se quiere en Jalisco'', with Jorge Negrete. She worked again with Negrete in ''Me he de comer esa tuna'' (1945) and ''Tal para cual'' (1951).
