Miguel Pupo (born November 19, 1991, in Itanhaém, São Paulo) is a Brazilian professional surfer who is in the World Surf League The World Surf League (WSL) is the governing body for professional surfing, surfers and is dedicated to showcasing the world's best talent in a variety of progressive formats. The World Surf League was originally known as the International Prof .... Career Miguel started on the circuit competing in the Qualifying Series in 2008. In 2011 he won his first 2 stages of the Qs and competed for the first time on the WSL World Circuit. Since 2012 he has been a member of the elite of World Surfing. His best result was in 2022 when he ranked sixth in the World Ranking and almost participated in the WSL Finals. He also won his first stage at the CT in Teahupoo, when he beat Frenchman Kauli Vaast in the decision. Itanhaém
Itanhaém is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Baixada Santista. The population is 103,102 (2020 est.) in an area of 601.85 km². The World Surf League (WSL) is the governing body for professional surfers and is dedicated to showcasing the world's best talent in a variety of progressive formats. The World Surf League was originally known as the International Professional Surfing founded by Fred Hemmings and Randy Rarick in 1976. IPS created the first world circuit of pro surfing events. In 1983 the Association of Surfing Pros took over management of the world circuit. In 2013, the ASP was acquired by ZoSea, backed by Paul Speaker, Terry Hardy, and Dirk Ziff. 2022 World Surf League
The 2022 World Surf League is the 45th season of all iterations of the tour circuit for professional surfers. Billabong Pipe Masters will be the first round of the tour. For the second time, the season will end at Lower Trestles, in San Clemente, USA, with the top five seeded men and women from the season going head to head to determine the champion at the WSL Finals. Teahupoo () is a village on the southwestern coast of the island of Tahiti, French Polynesia, in the southern Pacific Ocean. It is known for the surf break and heavy, glassy waves offshore, often reaching , and sometimes up to . It is the site of the annual Billabong Pro Tahiti surf competition, part of the World Championship Tour (WCT) of the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour surfing circuit, and used to be one stop in the World Tour of the International Bodyboarding Association. Maresias
Maresias is a beach and district at the Atlantic Ocean in the city of São Sebastião, located on São Paulo state's northern coastline, Brazil. The name comes from the ocean breeze that affects the beach and the neighborhood. The sea at the beach is shaken with big waves and the current is also strong, being one of the most popular surf points in Brazil, serving as a point for some tournaments.
