	Comarca A ''comarca'' (, or , or ) is a traditional region or local administrative division found in Portugal, Spain and some of their former colonies, like Brazil, Nicaragua, and Panama. The term is derived from the term ''marca'', meaning a "march, mark", plus the prefix ''co''-, meaning "together, jointly". 	Trasmiera Trasmiera (Spanish: ''Trasmiera''; Cantabrian and historically: ''Tresmiera'') is a historic ''comarca'' of Cantabria (Spain), located to the east of the Miera River (''tras'' Miera, meaning behind Miera, from the point of view of Asturias de Santillana), reaching the western side of the Asón. It extends between the bays of Santander and Santoña, occupying most of the Eastern seaboard of Cantabria. This piece of coast is known for its cliffs and fine beaches, such as those of Langre, Loredo, Isla, Noja and Berria. 	Valles Pasiegos Valles Pasiegos is an administrative ''comarca'' in Cantabria, Spain. It is formed by the valleys of the Pas and Miera rivers, each one being a natural ''comarca'' of its own. History In the whole valley, the repopulation allowed by the foundation of several monasteries had great importance. The most important were the San Vicente de Fístoles monastery and the Santa Cruz de Castañeda collegiate church. In addition to the monasteries, several romanesque temples were built during the 11th to 13th centuries, some of which still stand: the aforementioned Santa Cruz de Castañeda church, the Santa María de Cayón church, and the temple of San Miguel de Monte Carceña, among others. 	Ramón Ortiz Y Miera Ramón Ortiz y Miera (commonly Padre Ramón Ortiz) (28 January 1814 – 11 March 1896) was a Mexican priest who helped organize armed resistance during the Mexican–American War of 1846 to 1848, and who was frustrated by the U.S. authorities in his efforts to repatriate Hispanic residents from New Mexico to the republic of Mexico after the war. Early career Ramón Ortiz y Miera was born in Santa Fé, Nuevo México (now New Mexico), on 28 January 1814, the youngest of eleven children of don Antonio Ortiz and doña Teresa Miera. 	Rick Miera Rick S. Miera (born July 20, 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico) is an American politician who served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing the 11th District. Miera did not seek reelection in 2014. Early life and education Miera was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Albuquerque. Career Miera worked as a consultant and therapist before retiring. Miera served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from 1991 to 2014. During his tenure, he served as House Majority Leader. Upon his retirement, Miera was succeeded by attorney and activist, Javier Martínez.Miera announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico on June 12, 2017.
