Maggie Walters
Maggie Walters is an American musician living in Austin, Texas. She has released two full-length albums, ''Maggie Walters'' (2005) and '' Midwestern Hurricane'' (2008). Walters' songs "Another Living Room" and "Be Careful Love" have appeared in the NBC shows ''Life'' and ''Friday Night Lights'', respectively. Career Walters' first standing gig was at a Chicago bar owned by Don Gibb, who played Ogre in the 1984 film ''Revenge of the Nerds''. It was Gibb himself who auditioned Walters and chose to feature her several nights a week. Her first demo was recorded in the bathroom of her Wrigleyville apartment on a BR-1180. These songs would later become tracks on ''Maggie Walters'' and '' Midwestern Hurricane''. In 2004, Walters was invited to perform at the Campus Greens Convention in Austin, Texas. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Indie folk is a music genre that arose in the 1990s among musicians from indie rock scenes influenced by folk music. Paul Leary
Paul Leary Walthall (born May 7, 1957), known as Paul Leary, is an American musician and music producer from Austin, Texas, best known as the lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for the American rock band Butthole Surfers. He is also the producer of a number of songs and albums by other bands, including U2, Sublime, Meat Puppets, Daniel Johnston, The Reverend Horton Heat, Pepper, Maggie Walters, Bad Livers, Slightly Stoopid, The Refreshments, Tumbledryer Babies, and Sludge Buzzard. Leary produced Sublime with Rome's debut album, '' Yours Truly''. In 1991, Leary released a solo album entitled ''The History of Dogs''. In 1994, he appeared on the song "Lounge Fly" from the multi-platinum album ''Purple'' by Stone Temple Pilots. Maggie Walters (album)
''Maggie Walters'' is the first album by the American musician Maggie Walters, released in 2005. History and re-release This album was recorded independently by Walters before she had been signed to a record label. When Walters was approached with a record deal, the record company wished to use four of the songs from ''Maggie Walters'' on the new album, but planned to have them reworked or remixed. Walters agreed to the terms of the contract, and as a result, the original self-titled album was removed from stores and digital distribution, and was not to be replicated or sold again. Walters eventually left the record label while retaining the rights to the album she recorded while signed with them (''Midwestern Hurricane''), partially due to the fact that four of the songs on it came from her original first album. Butthole Surfers
Butthole Surfers are an American rock band formed in San Antonio, Texas, by singer Gibby Haynes and guitarist Paul Leary in 1981. The band has had numerous personnel changes, but its core lineup of Haynes, Leary, and drummer King Coffey has been consistent since 1983. Ian McLagan
Ian Patrick McLagan (; 12 May 1945 – 3 December 2014) was an English keyboardist, best known as a member of the rock bands Small Faces and Faces. He also collaborated with the Rolling Stones and led his own band from the late 1970s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Early life McLagan was born at West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth, to Alec William McLagan, of Scottish descent, and Susan (née Young), from Mountrath, County Laois. He had an elder brother, Mike. Ray Wylie Hubbard (born November 13, 1946) is an American singer and songwriter. Early life Hubbard was born in the town of Soper, Oklahoma. His family moved to Oak Cliff in southwest Dallas, Texas, in 1954. He attended W. H. Adamson High School with Michael Martin Murphey. Hubbard graduated in 1965 and enrolled in North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas) as an English major. He spent the summers in Red River, New Mexico, playing folk music in hootenannies with a trio known as Three Faces West.
