Midtermolen
Midtermolen is a pier which extends north from India Quay in the Southern Free Port of Copenhagen, Denmark, dividing the dock into an east and west basin. History The wharf was constructed as part of the original free port which was constructed in 1894. The Silo Warehouse which was completed at its tip that same year was the new port area's most imposing building until it was demolished after a fire in 1969. The building was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup with inspiration from Christian IV's Renaissance buildings. Its core was an 11 storeys high grain silo while the sides served as regular warehouses. The official time signal was from 1909 until World War II located on the roof of the building. It consisted of a ball which was raised every morning and dropped at 13:00 (12:00 UTC). In 1994, a new headquarters for East Asiatic Company was inaugurated at the tip of the pier. Freeport Of Copenhagen
The Free Port of Copenhagen is a bonded area in the northern part of Port of Copenhagen of Copenhagen, Denmark. PLH Architects is an architectural firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 1977 by Palle Leif Hansen. Marmormolen
Marmormolen ( lit. "Marble Pier") is a wharf in the Søndre Frihavn (English: South Free Port) area of Copenhagen, Denmark. Currently under redevelopment, a new office building for the United Nations activities in Copenhagen is being built at its tip. The plans also include a highrise which will be connected to another highrise at the tip of Langelinie Pier across the entrance to the Søndre Frihavn dock by a pedestrian and cycling bridge 65 meters above the harbor. History Marble Pier was constructed from 1893 to 1896 as part of the original Freeport of Copenhagen and remained in use until the late 1980s. It takes its name after ''Den Ankerske Marmorforretning'' (English: The Anker Marble Business), the first industrial enterprise to be established in the free port. Gammelholm ( lit. "Old Islet") is a predominantly residential neighbourhood in the city centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is bounded by the Nyhavn canal, Kongens Nytorv, Holmens Kanal, Niels Juels Gade and the waterfront along Havnegade. Christian IV Of Denmark
Christian IV (12 April 1577 – 28 February 1648) was King of Denmark and Norway and Duke of Holstein and Schleswig from 1588 until his death in 1648.
