Midland High School (officially Midland Senior High School) is a public high school located in Midland, Texas and is part of Midland Independent School District. The original Midland High School was built in 1926 and was moved twenty-three years later to a new building in 1949 where it currently sits today. In recent years, Midland High School has received major renovations including complete asbestos removal and new West Wing that houses science, math, and social studies classroom. Also, renovations to their large gym including new floors and new bleachers. The practice field of the Midland High football team Memorial Stadium has also received a new turf. Midland High School hosts only high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors (10th-12th grades) as Midland Freshman High School serves as a feeder school hosting freshman high school students. Midland Independent School District
Midland Independent School District is a public school district in Midland, Texas. Midland ISD contains 40 campuses, two 6A high schools, 24 elementary schools, and two early education centers. It includes the portions of Midland and Odessa in Midland County. Led by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stephenie D. Howard, over 26,000 students are spread out amongst the various campuses. Bryce Hoppel
Bryce Hoppel (born September 5, 1997) is an American middle-distance runner, who is a member of the 2020 U.S. Olympic track team for the 800 meters. He holds the American indoor record in the 1000 meters. Hoppel attended the University of Kansas. Hoppel had a breakout junior year at Kansas, where he won 21 consecutive races between the indoor and outdoor season, including two NCAA Individual Championships in the 800 meters. Hoppel's 21 race streak came to an end when Hoppel finished 3rd at the 2019 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, qualifying for the 2019 World Championships in Athletics. Laynce Nix
Laynce Michael Nix (born October 30, 1980) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. Nix played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and Philadelphia Phillies. Nix played all three outfield positions, as well as first base, but was officially listed as a left fielder by ESPN. His younger brother, Jayson Nix, also has played in MLB. Gasoline was an American Southern rock Sharpe-Young 2005, pg. 233 band and side project of former Pantera member Vinnie Paul. Paul described the group's general theme as "booze and women".
