"Middleman" is a song by English rock band Terrorvision, which was released in June 1994 as the second single from their second studio album ''How to Make Friends and Influence People''. The song was written by Terrorvision and produced by Gil Norton. "Middleman" reached No. 25 in the UK Singles Chart and remained in the Top 100 for five weeks. The song's music video was directed by Tim Royes and produced by Alan Wachs. Critical reception On its release as a single, Alan Jones of ''Music Week'' chose "Middleman" as the "pick of the week". He considered the song to be a "tuneful rock record", which he felt showed the band moving "closer to the mainstream". He noted the song as being "tastefully decorated by strings" and added, "It is not so very far removed from the style of Electric Light Orchestra, ELO in the Seventies, with some of Jeff Lynne's vocal devices also coming into play." ''TerrorVision'' is a 1986 American science fiction horror comedy film directed by Ted Nicolaou, produced and written by Albert and Charles Band and composed by Richard Band, all of whom would go on to found and work with Full Moon Features in 1989. ''TerrorVision'' was made by Empire International Pictures, the production company owned by Charles Band prior to Full Moon, and was released in February 1986. The story follows an alien creature sent to Earth, which ends up inside a household where three kids must take care of it to prevent it from going into a hungry rampage. Tony Wright (musician)
Tony Wright (born 6 May 1968) is a British musician who is the lead singer of the British band Terrorvision and also the band Laika Dog. Early life Wright was born in Bradford to David Wright who was the owner of a Gallery in Bradford that showcased local artists. Originally wanting to become a Designer, Wright was convinced to take a Youth Training Scheme at a local printing firm. He met the other founding members of Terrorvision whilst working as a glass collector and barman in a local pub and the band began their music career as The Spoilt Bratz. Solo career In March 2014, Wright announced a solo acoustic project. In September 2014 he released his debut solo album ''Thoughts 'N' All''. The Troggs (originally called the Troglodytes) are an English garage rock band formed in Andover, Hampshire in May 1964. Jeffrey Lynne (born 30 December 1947) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the co-founder of the rock music, rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), which was formed in 1970. "Oblivion", " Middleman", "Pretend Best Friend", "Alice What's the Matter", and "Some People Say" were all released as singles. The title refers to the Dale Carnegie book ''How to Win Friends and Influence People''. The album was recorded in 17 days. Production ''How to Make Friends and Influence People'' was recorded with producer Gil Norton and engineer Al Clay; they were assisted by engineer Mike Cyr. Norton and Chris Sheldon mixed the album at The Church in London, with assistance from Elliot Ness and John McDonnell. Electric Light Orchestra
The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1970 by songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood with drummer Bev Bevan. Their music is characterised by a fusion of pop, classical arrangements and futuristic iconography. After Wood's departure in 1972, Lynne became the band's sole leader, arranging and producing every album while writing nearly all of their original material.
