Microregions In Goiás
The state of Goiás is divided into 18 statistical microregions by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatístic (IBGE). These have no administrative function but are used only for statistics. The total area of the state is 341,289 km2 and the population is 5,450,303 as of 2007. Meia Ponte Microregion
The Meia Ponte Microregion is a statistical region of Goiás state, Brazil created by the IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística). It is located south of the state capital, Goiânia, and includes 21 municipalities with a total population of 338,147 inhabitants (2007). The total area is 21,229.00 km2. The region takes in the Meia Ponte River basin. The largest cities are Morrinhos, Goiatuba, Itumbiara, and Caldas Novas. The region has great variety in landscape. The north is hillier while the south is characterized by rolling plains with herds of beef cattle and plantations of corn and soybeans. Quirinópolis is a municipality in south Goiás state, Brazil. It is a large producer of cattle and agricultural products. Location Quirinópolis is the seat of the Quirinópolis Microregion. It forms boundaries with Gouvelândia (west), Cachoeira Alta (east) and Paranaiguara (south). It is connected to the main regions of the country by GO-164, which connects to BR-452 and GO-206, which in turn connects to BR-384. The Pires do Rio Microregion is a statistical region of south-central Goiás state, Brazil. The most important city is Pires do Rio. The area includes 10 municipalities with a population of 90,327 (2007) in an area of 9,449.80 km2. The most populous municipality in the region is Pires do Rio with 26,857 inhabitants and the least populous is Palmelo with 2,260 inhabitants. Iporá Microregion
Iporá is a municipality in west-central Goiás state, Brazil. The population is around 31,499 (2020) in a total area of 1,026.4 km² (10/10/2002). It is known as the City of the Clear Waters because of its many streams and rivers. Location Iporá is the center of the Iporá Microregion, in the Goiás West Region. The distance to the state capital, Goiânia, is 225 km. and connections are made by highway GO-060 passing through / Trindade / Turvânia / Firminópolis /Nazário / São Luís dos Montes Belos Israelândia. Goiás () is a Brazilian state located in the Center-West region. Goiás borders the Federal District and the states of (from north clockwise) Tocantins, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso. The state capital is Goiânia.
