Microrasbora Rubescens
Red dwarf rasbora (''Microrasbora rubescens'') is a species of cyprinid found endemic to Lake Inle in Shan State in Myanmar. It belongs to the genus ''Microrasbora'', which contains two small species of danionins. 2009. Molecular phylogenetic interrelationships of the south Asian cyprinid genera ''Danio'', ''Devario'', and ''Microrasbora'' (Teleostei, Cyprinidae, Danioninae). Zoologica Scripta 38:237-256. Description The dwarf red rasbora reaches up to in length. Its meristics are that there are 2 spines and 6-7 soft rays in the dorsal fin and 3 spines and 10-12 soft rays in the anal fin. The females are less instensly coloured than the males and are larger and have a much deeper body. Nelson Annandale
Thomas Nelson Annandale CIE FRSE (15 June 1876, in Edinburgh – 10 April 1924, in Calcutta) was a British zoologist, entomologist, anthropologist, and herpetologist. He was the founding director of the Zoological Survey of India. Life The eldest son of Thomas Annandale, the regius professor of clinical surgery at the University of Edinburgh. His maternal grandfather was a publisher, William Nelson. Thomas was educated at Rugby School, Balliol College, Oxford where he studied under Ray Lankester and E. B. ''Parambassis'' is a genus of freshwater fish in the Asiatic glassfish family Ambassidae of order Perciformes. The type species is the Iridescent glassy perchlet (''Ambassis apogonoides''). These fishes originate mostly from Southeast Asia, but the species range across the Indomalayan and Australasian realms, from Pakistan, China and India south through Indonesia, New Guinea and Australia. The Shan Hills ( my, ရှမ်းရိုးမ; ''Shan Yoma''), also known as Shan Highland, is a vast mountainous zone that extends through Yunnan to Myanmar and Thailand. The whole region is made up of numerous mountain ranges separated mostly by narrow valleys as well as a few broader intermontane basins. The ranges in the area are aligned in such a way that they link to the foothills of the Himalayas further to the northwest. The highest point is Loi Leng, at 2,673 m elevation.
