Micronauts
Micronauts is a North American science fiction toyline manufactured and marketed by Mego Corporation, Mego from 1976 to 1980. The ''Micronauts'' toyline was based on and licensed from the ''Microman'' toyline created by Japanese-based toy company Takara in 1974. Mego discontinued the ''Micronauts'' line in 1980 prior to the company’s bankruptcy and dissolution in 1982. Years after Mego’s demise, other toy companies, such as Palisades Toys and SOTA Toys, SOTA (State of the Art) Toys, have attempted to revive the toyline. Description The ''Micronauts'' toyline consisted of action figures which were known for their high number of articulation points relative to other toys of similar size and scale in the 1970s. The toyline also included vehicles, robots, playsets and accessories. ''The Micronauts'' are comic books featuring a group of characters based on the Mego Micronauts toy line. The first title was published by Marvel Comics in 1979, with both original characters and characters based on the toys. Marvel published two ''Micronauts'' series, mostly written by Bill Mantlo, until 1986, well after the toy line was cancelled in 1980. In the 2000s, Image Comics and Devil's Due Publishing each briefly published their own ''Micronauts'' series. Byron Preiss Visual Publications also published three paperback novels based on the Micronauts. In 2016, IDW Publishing published a new comic book series. A live-action film version of the Micronauts was in development by Hasbro Studios and Paramount in 2015. The Micronauts
The Micronauts are a Paris-based dance music act. They formed when Christophe Monier met Canada-born George Issakidis whilst working at the Parisian music fanzine eDEN. The first release was a 12 inch called "The Jazz." They continued to work throughout the 1990s, developing an acid techno style of their own. This attracted the attention of high-profile artists, such as The Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Indeed, their remix of ''Block Rockin' Beats'' appears on The Chemical Brothers' DJ mix album '' Brothers Gonna Work It Out'' and their remix of Underworld's ''Bruce Lee'' was also widely distributed. At the end of the decade they were signed to the Astralwerks label and soon after released ''The Jag''. One year later, in 2000, they released their debut EP, '' Bleep to Bleep''. Gordon Williams (writer)
Gordon M. Williams (20 June 1934 – 20 August 2017) was a Scottish author. Born in Paisley, Renfrewshire, he moved to London to work as a journalist. He wrote for television and was the author of more than 20 novels, including ''From Scenes Like These'' (1968), shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1969, ''Walk Don't Walk'' (1972) and ''Big Morning Blues'' (1974). Other novels include ''The Camp'' (1966), ''The Man Who Had Power Over Women'' (1967) and ''The Upper Pleasure Garden'' (1970). He was a ghostwriter for the autobiographies of association footballers Bobby Moore, Terry Venables and manager Tommy Docherty. Williams' National Service with the RAF in Germany informed his second published novel, ''The Camp''. In 1971, his novel ''The Siege of Trencher's Farm'' was controversially filmed as '' Straw Dogs''. Harry Saltzman
Herschel Saltzman (; – ), known as Harry Saltzman, was a Canadian theatre and film producer. He is best remembered for co-producing the first nine of the ''James Bond'' film series with Albert R. Broccoli. He lived most of his life in Denham, Buckinghamshire, England. Early life Saltzman was born in a hospital in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, the son of Jewish immigrants Abraham Saltzman and Dora Horstein. Raised in Saint John, New Brunswick for the first seven years of his life. His father, a horticulturalist, immigrated to the US in 1905 from Kozienice, Poland (then the Russian Empire), marrying Dora in 1909. The couple moved to Canada in 1910 where their four oldest children (Minnie, Florence, Harry and Isadore) were born, before moving the family to Cleveland, Ohio where their youngest son, David, was born. Chris Randall (musician)
Chris Randall (born 1968) is an American musician, Eurorack evangelist, and the current frontman of Sister Machine Gun. In 1998, he created a side-project called Micronaut, focusing on more instrumental music that was not necessarily appropriate for Sister Machine Gun. After disbanding Sister Machine Gun in 2007, he began his solo career and released the EP ''Cheap Sensation'' and the full-length album ''The Devil His Due''. Chris also collaborates with Wade Alin from Christ Analogue on the IDM project Scanalyzer. In 2015 he rebanded Sister Machine Gun to release The Future Unformed on WTII.
