''Mickey Mouse Disco'' is an album released by Disneyland Records in 1979. A late entry in the genre of disco, ''Mickey Mouse Disco'' included disco versions of Disney songs and Disney-fied versions of disco hits. The album was re-released on CD in 1995, and is currently available for download from iTunes. On April 13, 2019, the original LP was reissued for the annual Record Store Day. Chart performance The album peaked at number 35 on ''Billboard''s Pop Albums Chart and was certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA. Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, brass and horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars. Charles August Nichols
Charles August "Nick" Nichols (September 15, 1910 – August 23, 1992) was an American animator and film director, who worked in animation for over 50 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Hanna-Barbera. At Disney, he worked on various short subjects and films from the 1940s into the 1950s, including the Academy Award-winning short ''Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom'' (1953). Nichols co-directed ''Charlotte's Web (1973 film), Charlotte's Web'' (1973) while at Hanna-Barbera. Biography Nichols was born in Milford, Utah. ''Thru the Mirror'' is a Mickey Mouse cartoon short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by United Artists in 1936. In this cartoon short, Mickey has a ''Through the Looking-Glass''-type dream that he travels through his mirror and enters a topsy-turvy world where everything is alive. While there, he engages in a Fred Astaire dance number with a pair of gloves and a pack of cards, until the cards chase him out of the bizarre world. ''The Last Flight of Noah's Ark'' is a 1980 American family adventure film produced by Walt Disney Productions starring Elliott Gould, Geneviève Bujold and Ricky Schroder. William Norman Ferguson (September 2, 1902 – November 4, 1957) was an animator for Walt Disney Studios (Burbank), Walt Disney Studios and a central contributor to the studio's stylistic development in the 1930s.
