Cresswell William 'Mickey' Crisp (12 May 1908 – 15 April 2001) was an Australian rules footballer who debuted with Carlton in the VFL in the 1931, after winning the 1930 Bendigo Football League The Bendigo Football Netball League (previously known as the Sandhurst Football Association, Bendigo and District Football Association, Bendigo Football Association and Bendigo Football League) is an Australian rules football and netball compe ...'s inaugural best and fairest award, the Fred Wood Medal, with Sandhurst. He was a premiership player in 1938 and regular Victorian interstate representative. Crisp played most of his career as a centreman but started in the forward line, kicking a career high 53 goals in 1932. He won the inaugural Carlton best and fairest award in 1934, topping the club's goalkicking in the same season. He won the award again in 1938. The Sandhurst Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Dragons'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Bendigo, Victoria (Australia), Victoria. Sandhurst is the former name of that city. The club teams currently compete in the Bendigo Football League, Bendigo Football Netball League. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). John Nicholls Medal
The John Nicholls Medal (formerly the Robert Reynolds Trophy from 1934 to 2003) is an Australian rules football award given to the player(s) adjudged best and fairest for the Carlton Football Club for the season. The voting system as of the 2017 AFL season, consists of four coaches giving each player a ranking from one to four after each match. Players can receive a maximum of 16 votes for a game.
