Mick Ryan (Borris–Ileigh Hurler)
Michael Ryan (born 1960) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Borris–Ileigh and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Ryan played hurling as a schoolboy at Our Lady's Secondary School in Templemore where he won a Croke and Harty Cup double in 1978. He first played for Borris–Ileigh at juvenile and underage levels, before winning a divisional medal with the junior team in 1978. Ryan's career with the club's senior team spanned three decades, during which time he won three North Tipperary SHC titles and three Tipperary SHC titles. He was captain of the Borris–Ileigh team that beat Rathnure in the 1987 All-Ireland club final. Ryan first played for Tipperary during a two-year tenure at minor level. He progressed to the under-21 team and won consecutive All-Ireland U21HC medals in 1980 and 1981. Ryan was drafted onto the senior team's extended panel in 1984. Borris–Ileigh Gaelic Athletic Club () is a Gaelic games club that is based in the village of Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club currently plays hurling and camogie in the county-wide and North division competitions of Tipperary GAA. It formerly participated in Mid Tipperary divisional competitions. It also plays Gaelic football at Junior and under-age levels. 1980 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship
The 1980 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 17th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. Tipperary were the defending champions. On 14 September 1980, Tipperary won the championship following a 2-9 to 0-14 defeat of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. Tony Sheppard
Anthony Sheppard (born 1956) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Kilruane MacDonaghs and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Sheppard first played Gaelic football and hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Kilruane MacDonaghs. After winning numerous divisional titles in the minor and under-21 grades, he progressed onto the club's respective senior teams and won a combined total of 12 North Tipperary titles across both codes between 1976 and 1990. He captained Kilruane MacDonaghs to the All-Ireland Club Championship title in 1986, having earlier won four Tipperary SHC titles. Sheppard first lined out at inter-county level as a forward on the Tipperary minor hurling team during the 1974 Munster MHC campaign. He later spent two seasons with the under-21 team. Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster.
