The following is a list of fictional characters that first appeared in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' in 1996, by order of first appearance. Michael Rose Michael Rose, played by Russell Floyd, first appears in Walford as a Market Inspector in 1996. Lucy Benjamin (born Lucy Jane Baker; 25 June 1970) is an English actress. Heather Trott
Heather Trott (also Peterson) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Cheryl Fergison. She made her first appearance on 26 June 2007. The character was introduced as a guest character, but later became a regular. The sidekick of character Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), most of Heather's storylines involved comedy, and Fergison won the 'Funniest Performance' award at the 2008 ''Inside Soap'' Awards. Heather's character is known for her headbands, love of cheese and karaoke, and being a fan of singer George Michael. Bryan Kirkwood (born 1976) is a British television producer. He was the producer of the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'' from 2006 until 2009, and was the executive producer of the BBC soap ''EastEnders'' from 2010 until 2012. He returned as the executive producer of ''Hollyoaks'' in late 2012, before leaving again in March 2021. His final episodes aired in June of that year. In 2022, he returned to EastEnders as a writer. Margaret Ann "Peggy" Mitchell (also Butcher) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. Peggy was initially played by Jo Warne when she first appeared in the episode broadcast on 30 April 1991, featuring in 10 episodes. Tony Hills is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Mark Homer from 7 September 1995 to 15 April 1999. Storylines Tony arrives in Walford from Norfolk on 7 September 1995 with his sister, Sarah Hills (Daniella Denby-Ashe).
