Mick Hill (pool Player)
Mick Hill is an English pool player. He was WEPF men's world champion of English 8-ball pool in 2004, 2010, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019, the first person to win it 6 times. Frequently described as a genius by his peers, he is one of the most successful players of the sport in his generation. Mick Hill started his pool life based from Dudley in the West Midlands. He was selected for the English Junior team for the European Championships (EPBF) held in Nurnberg, Germany, from the 4 to 11 August 1996 along with Darren Heggie (Blackburn) and Chris Melling, with Bob Love (London) as their Manager from the English Pool Association. The England Junior team won a commendable Bronze Medal (Double Eliminator) losing to Germany 2-1 in the Semi-Final having defeated Switzerland 2-1, losing to Finland 3-0, defeating Denmark 3-0, Belgium 3-0 and Austria 2-1. Pool (cue Sports)
Pool is a classification of cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the , into which balls are deposited. "Pool billiards" is sometimes hyphenated and/or spelled with a singular "billiard". The WPA itself uses "pool-billiard" in its logo but "pool-billiards" in its legal notices. The organization compounds the words to result in an acronym of "WPA", "WPBA" having already been taken by the Women's Professional Billiards Association. World Eight-ball Pool Federation
The World Eightball Pool Federation (WEPF) is an international pool governing body overseeing international tournaments and rankings in the British-originating variant of eight-ball pool played with red and yellow unnumbered balls instead of the stripes and solids numbered balls. WEPF competes for authority and membership with the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), which oversees its own tournaments and slightly different rules under the name blackball. 8-ball Pool
Eight-ball (also spelled 8-ball or eightball, and sometimes called solids and stripes, spots and stripes or rarely highs and lows) is a discipline of pool played on a billiard table with six pockets, cue sticks, and sixteen billiard balls (a and fifteen ). The object balls include seven solid-colored balls numbered 1 through 7, seven striped balls numbered 9 through 15, and the black 8 ball. Chris Melling (pool Player)
Christopher Melling (born 27 January 1979) is an English professional pool and snooker player and former world number 1 at World Rules British Eight-Ball. He won the WEPF World Eightball Championship twice, in 2001 and 2003. He was ranked #1 in 2003 by the World Eightball Pool Federation. Melling has also twice won the International Pool Masters (2001 and 2002) and the European Professional title (2002). He was the first player to win two International Tour events back to back. His entrance by walk-on music is from the song “Wannabe” by Spice Girls. Melling is also the only cue sports player to hold professional status in English 8 ball, American pool and snooker. Gareth David Potts (born 30 June 1983) is an English three-time world champion eight-ball pool player, winning the WEPF World Eightball Championship in 2005, 2007 and 2008. at wepf.org He was also IPA World Blackball Professional Champion in 2014. He also won the 2000 Junior World Pool Championships. Potts won the Chinese 8 Ball Masters in 2013, beating Chris Melling 17-9 in the best-of-33 final. Shi Hanqing (, born 19 August 1990) is a Chinese pool player and former professional snooker player. Snooker career Shi first appeared at a ranking event at age of 19, playing Matthew Selt in the wildcard round of the 2009 Shanghai Masters in which he was whitewashed 0–5.
