Michigan's 26th Senate District
Michigan's 26th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 26th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Kevin Daley since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Aric Nesbitt. Geography District 26 encompasses parts of Genesee, Lapeer, Saginaw, and Tuscola counties. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 26, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, stretched along the Lake Michigan coast in Allegan and Van Buren Counties and parts of Kent County. Kevin Daley (politician)
Kevin Daley (born August 10, 1957) is an American politician in the state of Michigan. He currently serves in the Michigan Senate for the 26th district. He previously represented the 31st district. He served in the Michigan House of Representatives from January 1, 2009 until January 1, 2015. Michigan's 3rd Congressional District
Michigan's 3rd congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in West Michigan. From 2003 to 2013, it consisted of the counties of Barry and Ionia, as well as all except the northwestern portion of Kent, including the city of Grand Rapids. Michigan's 2nd congressional district is a United States congressional district in Western Michigan. The current 2nd district contains much of Michigan's old 4th congressional district, and includes all of Manistee, Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Gladwin, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Montcalm, Gratiot, Ionia, and Barry counties, as well as portions of Midland, Wexford, Muskegon, Kent, and Eaton counties. Michigan's 6th congressional district is a United States congressional district in southeast Michigan. In 2022, the district was redrawn to be centered around Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County, as well as western and southern Wayne County, small part of southwestern Oakland County, and the city of Milan in Monroe County. In previous redistrictings, the 6th district consisted of all of Berrien, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren, counties, and includes most of Allegan county. Holland is a city in the western region of the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan on Lake Macatawa, which is fed by the Macatawa River (formerly known locally as the Black River). Gaines Charter Township is a charter township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 25,146 at the 2010 census. The township is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is located about south of the city of Grand Rapids. Wayland, Michigan
Wayland is a city in Allegan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,079 at the 2010 census. The city is located at the northwest corner of Wayland Township, but is politically independent. The city has also incorporated a portion of land in the south of adjacent Leighton Township. U.S. Route 131 forms the western boundary of the city. History About two hundred years ago, the area now known as Wayland, Michigan was inhabited by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of the Pottawatomi, a Native American tribe in Michigan.
