Michigan's 23rd House of Representatives district (also referred to as Michigan's 23rd House district) is a legislative district within the Michigan House of Representatives located in parts of Livingston, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties. 2018 Michigan House Of Representatives Election
An election was held on November 6, 2018 to elect all 110 members to Michigan's House of Representatives. The election coincided with elections for other offices, including U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Governor and Senate. The primary election was held on August 7, 2018. Republicans retained control of the House, despite losing the popular vote, after a net loss of five seats, winning 58 seats compared to 52 seats for the Democrats. Term-limited members Under the Michigan Constitution, members of the state Senate are able to serve only two four-year terms, and members of the House of Representatives are limited to three two-year terms, some of the toughest term-limit laws in the country. After the 2018 mid-term elections, nearly 70 percent of the state Senate and 20 percent of the state House were forced to leave office because of term-limits. New Boston is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Huron Charter Township. As an unincorporated community, New Boston has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. Brownstown Charter Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 30,627 at the 2010 census. Brownstown was established in 1827, a decade prior to Michigan's Admission to the Union. Brownstown has three separate but connected segments; due to the incorporation of the cities of Flat Rock, Rockwood, and Woodhaven in the early 1960s. Gibraltar, Michigan
Gibraltar is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,656 at the 2010 census. Gibraltar is a southern city of Metro Detroit and is about south of the city of Detroit. The city is bordered by the Detroit River to the east, the city of Trenton to the north, and the township of Brownstown to the south and west. History Gibraltar was first settled as early as 1811 and later platted on March 14, 1837, by trustees of the Gibralter & Flat Rock Company. George Mans
George W. Mans Jr. (January 31, 1940 – December 20, 2017) was an American college football player and coach and politician. He was the captain of the 1961 Michigan Wolverines football team, an assistant football coach at the University of Michigan from 1966 to 1973, and the head coach of the Eastern Michigan Eagles football (then called the Hurons) team from 1974 to 1975.
