Michigan's 10th Senate District
Michigan's 10th Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 10th district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Democrat Paul Wojno since 2023, succeeding Republican Michael D. MacDonald. Geography District 10 encompasses parts of Macomb and Wayne counties. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 10, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, was based in central Macomb County to the north of Detroit, including Sterling Heights, Macomb Township, and most of Clinton Township. Michigan's 10th Congressional District
Michigan's 10th congressional district is a United States congressional district in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, covering a region known as the Thumb. It consists of all of Huron, Lapeer, St. Clair, and Sanilac Counties; as well as most of northern Macomb County and eastern Tuscola County. District boundaries were redrawn in 1992, 2002, and 2012 due to reapportionment following the censuses of 1990, 2000, and 2010. The current district is fairly conservative. Huron, Lapeer, St. Clair, and Sanilac Counties tend to support Republican candidates, as do the northern townships in Macomb and the eastern townships in Tuscola. With 15.5%, this district has the largest proportion of Polish Americans in the country. Tecumseh, Michigan
Tecumseh is a city in Lenawee County in the U.S. state of Michigan, near the River Raisin. Tecumseh is about southwest of Detroit, south of Ann Arbor, and north of Toledo, Ohio. The main street of downtown is Chicago Boulevard, also designated as M-50. It crosses the River Raisin a few miles east of M-52. As of the 2010 census, the city has a population of 8,521. The Michigan Republican Party is the state affiliate of the national Republican Party in Michigan, sometimes referred to as MIGOP. Ronald Weiser was elected chairman in 2021. The Michigan Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan. It is based in Lansing. Lavora Barnes is the party's current chair. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census.
