Michigan's 103rd House of Representatives district (also referred to as Michigan's 103rd House district) is a legislative district within the Michigan House of Representatives located in parts of Benzie and Grand Traverse counties, as well as all of Leelanau County. Lonnie Barton Johnson is an American politician. He is the former chairperson of the Michigan Democratic Party, having served in that position from 2013 through 2015. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2012 election for the 103rd district in the Michigan House of Representatives. The 2012 Michigan House of Representatives elections were held on November 6, 2012, with partisan primaries to select the parties' nominees in the various districts on August 7, 2012. Due to gerrymandering, the Republican Party retained its majority in the House of Representatives despite losing the popular vote. Rep. An election was held on November 8, 2016 to elect all 110 members to Michigan's House of Representatives. The election coincided with elections for other offices, including U.S. President, U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. The primary election was held on August 2, 2016. Daire Rendon
Daire Rendon (born May 26, 1952) is an American politician who has served in the Michigan House of Representatives from the 103rd district since 2017, succeeding her husband, Bruce, who was term-limited in 2016. Career On November 18, 2020, Rendon introduced House Resolution No. 324 to impeach Governor Whitmer. The state senate majority leader and state house speaker (both Republicans) opposed calls for impeachment, calling it "shameful". The resolution was "dead on arrival", as the legislature had been adjourned and not expected to take action in a lame-duck session. In December 2020, Rendon and Matt Maddock joined a federal lawsuit filed by Trump supporters to overturn the election results. The suit asked for state lawmakers to certify the election results, therefore allowing the Republican-led Michigan Legislature to overturn Biden's victory in the state. Lake City, Michigan
Lake City is a city in and the county seat of Missaukee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 836. Lake City is locally known as the " Christmas Tree Capitol" because of the millions of Christmas trees produced annually. History The community's first settler, Daniel Reeder, built his cabin on Muskrat Lake, now Lake Missaukee, in 1868. On January 22, 1872, Reeder was the name of post office open and the last name of its first postmaster, Daniel. The county selected Reeder by a one-vote margin as the county seat in 1873. The community became a station of the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad. The community was renamed on January 25, 1877 to Lake City. Lake City was incorporated as a village and platted in 1889.
