Michelle Shaprow (SHAP-row) is an American dance pop and jazz singer and songwriter. She has released three albums. Music career Shaprow recorded her debut album “Purple Skies” with Grammy-nominated producer Alex Eleña and Joshua Valleau. The album spent 5 weeks on the Japan album chart. She recorded her second album “Earth One” with Alex Elena and Topher Mohr. Reception “Purple Skies” was selected as one of the best albums of 2011 in Japan's "iTunes Rewind". Her songs reached the top 10 pop charts in Korea’s most popular digital malls. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. ''Purple Skies'' is a 2014 movie directed by Sridhar Rangayan and produced by Public Service Broadcasting Trust and Solaris Pictures. It documents the opinions of lesbians, bisexuals and trans men in India. It was broadcast on Doordarshan in 2015. The documentary film showcases stories of the LGBT community about living in India and is the first documentary on LGBT topics to be screened on a national network, Doordarshan. KCRW (89.9 MHz FM) is a National Public Radio member station broadcasting from the campus of Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California, where the station is licensed. KCRW airs original news and music programming in addition to programming from NPR and other affiliates.
