Michel Tommo Monthé
Michel Tommo Monthe (born 26 March 1947) is a Cameroonian diplomat who has been Cameroon's Permanent Representative to the United Nations since 8 September 2008. Education and personal life Born in Bana in Cameroon, Monthe obtained bachelor of arts and masters of arts degrees at the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon. He also has a doctorate in international relations from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon, University of Yaoundé II. Monthe is married and has six children. Career Monthe was the Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) before taking office at the United Nations. Bana, Cameroon
Bana is a sub-prefecture and commune in the West Province (Cameroon), West Province of Cameroon, some 8 km east of Bafang and 2 km south-west of Babouantou. Geography Bana is accessed by road P15 which comes from Bamena in the east which passes through the heart of the commune and continues west to join the N5 road in the north-east of Bafang. The word ''Bana'' means "birth place" (Ba = place, Na = born). The inhabitants are called ''Née'' however they often call themselves ''bana'' in French. Née signifies insistence, harassment, pursuit which may reflect the qualities of the founder of the town. The language spoken in the commune is Fe'fe' language, Fe'fe' which the locals simply call ''Bana''. The commune is located at a high altitude of 1,418 metres and consequently has a cool climate. Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. Flag Of Cameroon
The national flag of Cameroon () was adopted in its present form on 20 May 1975 after Cameroon became a unitary state. It is a vertical tricolour of green, red and yellow Pale (heraldry), pales, with a yellow five-pointed star in its center. There is a wide variation in the size of the central star, although it is always contained within the inside stripe. Description The colour scheme uses the traditional Pan-African colours (Cameroon was the second state to adopt them). The centre stripe is thought to stand for unity: red is the colour of unity, and the star is referred to as "the star of unity". The yellow stands for the sun, and also the savannas in the northern part of the country, while the green is for the forests in the southern part of Cameroon. International Relations Institute Of Cameroon
The International Relations Institute of Cameroon (French: ''Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroun'', IRIC) is one of the five Institutions of the University of Yaoundé II; it was created by decree of President Ahmadou Ahidjo on 24 April 1971. The organization of studies at the IRIC was renovated in 1993. Up until then, the Institute essentially focused on training diplomats. The new curriculum gives access to other international careers.
