Michaela Du Toit
Michaela du Toit (born January 10, 2000) is a figure skater representing South Africa and an actress. She is the 2015 and 2017 South African National Champion. She starred in the Family Channel’s 2016 film Ice Girls alongside two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko. Personal life Michaela du Toit was born on January 10, 2000, in Poole, England, but she grew up in Toronto, Canada. She started playing hockey at the age of six, but she decided to switch to figure skating, and she originally represented Canada before switching to South Africa, which is where her family is originally from. In 2016, she made her acting debut playing the character Mattie in the TV movie Ice Girl. Skating career du Toit began competing in the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) in the 2013–14 season. 2016 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2016 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held from 14–20 March 2016 in Debrecen, Hungary. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Anna Dušková / Martin Bidař and Daniel Samohin became the first World Junior champions in figure skating from the Czech Republic and Israel, respectively. 2017 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2017 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 2016–17 figure skating season. It was held at the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung, South Korea on February 16–19. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. 2015–16 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2015–16 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 19th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2015–16 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. At each event, skaters also earned points toward qualifying for the final. The top six skaters or teams from each discipline met at the 2015–16 Junior Grand Prix Final, held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly.
