Michaela Boyle
Michaela Boyle (born 29 September 1966) is a Sinn Féin politician in Northern Ireland. She was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2011 as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). She was re-elected in 2016 and 2017 She was co-opted to Strabane District Council in 2008. Boyle was elected to Derry City and Strabane District Council at the local elections on 2 May 2019. She was elected as Mayor of the Council at its first sitting following the council election. She then resigned her Assembly seat, and Maolíosa McHugh Maolíosa McHugh ( , ) is a Sinn Féin politician from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland who has served as Member of the Legislative Assembly for the West Tyrone constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly since 28 May 2019. West Tyrone (Assembly Constituency)
West Tyrone (, Ulster Scots: ''Wast Owenslann'') is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly. The seat was first used for a Northern Ireland-only election for the Northern Ireland Forum in 1996. Since 1998, it has elected members to the current Assembly. For Assembly elections prior to 1996, the constituency was largely part of the Mid Ulster constituency with a smaller section coming from Fermanagh and South Tyrone constituency. Since 1997, it has shared boundaries with the West Tyrone UK Parliament constituency. 2019 Northern Ireland Local Elections
Local elections were held in Northern Ireland on Thursday 2 May 2019. The last elections were held in 2014. 819 candidates contested 462 seats across Northern Ireland's 11 local government districts. 1,305,384 people aged 18 and over were eligible to vote, and 52.7% of the electorate turned out. Electoral system Northern Ireland uses the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system to elect members of local councils and members of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Voters rank candidates in order of preference by marking 1, 2, 3, ''etc.'' to the names of candidates on a ballot paper and can rank as many or as few candidates as they like or just vote for one candidate. Female ( symbol: ♀) is the sex of an organism that produces the large non-motile ova (egg cells), the type of gamete (sex cell) that fuses with the male gamete during sexual reproduction. The ''Belfast Telegraph'' is a daily newspaper published in Belfast, Northern Ireland, by Independent News & Media. Its editor is Eoin Brannigan. Reflecting its unionist tradition, the paper has historically been "favoured by the Protestant population", while also being read within Catholic nationalist communities in Northern Ireland.
