Michael Weiß (football Manager)
Hans Michael Weiß (born 11 March 1965) is a German football manager who is the current head coach of the Laos national football team and Laos national under-23 football team. Managerial career Weiß served internships with several football clubs around the globe such as Real Madrid, Arsenal, Kaiserslautern, and River Plate, to name a few. He has worked at the Rwanda youth team programs and served as the technical director of the Rwandese Association Football Federation, the governing body of football in Rwanda. In January 2011, he took charge of the Philippines national football team after being referred by the German Football Association in January 2011. Under him, the Azkals rose to their highest-ever placing in the FIFA rankings, 127 (which was later surpassed, 124 under new coach Thomas Dooley). AFC Challenge Cup
The AFC Challenge Cup was an international football competition for Asian Football Confederation (AFC) member countries that was categorized as "emerging countries" in the "Vision Asia" programme. "Vision Asia", created by former AFC president, Mohammed Bin Hammam, is the AFC's plan for a continent wide programme to raise the standards of Asian football at all levels. The AFC Challenge Cup, which reflected the philosophy of Vision Asia, was created for teams to experience playing in a continental competition with the possibility to win an AFC trophy and to potentially discover new talent. 2018 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification
The 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualification was an international men's under-23 football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including China PR who qualified automatically as hosts. Draw Of the 47 AFC member associations, a total of 40 teams entered the competition. The final tournament hosts China PR decided to participate in qualification despite having automatically qualified for the final tournament. Thomas Dooley
Thomas Dooley (born May 12, 1961) is an American former soccer player and coach. He played as a defender and defensive midfielder and was a long-time member and former captain of the United States national team. Dooley recently served as the head coach of the Philippines national team. Early life Dooley was born to a German mother and a U.S. Army father. Club career Dooley played as a forward with amateur team FK Pirmasens. He started his professional career in 1984 with third division club FC Homburg.
