Michael Weiss (figure Skater)
Michael Weiss (born August 2, 1976) is an American former competitive and currently professional figure skater. He is in the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame and is a three-time national champion (1999, 2000, 2003) a two-time World bronze medalist (1999, 2000), and a two-time Olympic team member. Personal life Michael Weiss was born August 2, 1976, in Washington, DC. His father, Greg, was a gymnast on the 1964 Olympic team, and his mother, Margie, was also a gymnast and national champion. His sister Geremi was a figure skater and junior national silver medalist; his other sister, Genna, was junior world diving champion. Weiss graduated from Wilbert Tucker Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. He holds an associate degree in business marketing from Prince George's Community College. Michael Weiss (born May 23, 1991) is an American competition swimmer who has represented the United States in international championships including the FINA World Championships, Pan American Games, and World University Games. Career Weiss was born in Reno, Nevada, where he was a three-time Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association state champion while in high school, winning one championship event in each of his sophomore, junior and senior years. Weiss won the gold medal at the short course 2012 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay, having swum the anchor leg in the preliminary heats, which teammate Matt McLean swam in the final. Weiss swam at the 2013 version of the made-for-television Duel in the Pool. He was also a gold medalist and broke the University Record at the 2013 Summer Universiade. Michael Weiss (born 17 January 1981) is an Austrian triathlete and cyclist. He represented Austria in the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's mountain bike, cross-country and is the 2011 XTERRA Triathlon world champion. Career Mountain biking Weiss was a member of the Austrian national mountain bike team from 1999–2008. In 2003, he won the under–23 European Mountain Bike Championships. The next year, in 2004, he became the Austrian mountain bike champion and competed in the 2004 Summer Olympic's mountain bike race where he placed 32nd with a time 2:30:14. After failing to qualify for 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Weiss eventually turned to triathlon. Triathlon Weiss took his skill in mountain biking and applied them to the XTERRA Triathlon series. Hans Michael Weiß (born 11 March 1965) is a German football manager who is the current head coach of the Laos national football team and Laos national under-23 football team. Michael L. Weiss is an American engineer who is known for his contributions to on-orbit satellite servicing missions, particular of the Hubble Space Telescope. Weiss most recently served as deputy program director on the Hubble Space Telescope program at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Weiss received his B.S. and M.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1978 and 1983. Michael Weiss (born 14 December 1955) is a German mathematician and an expert in algebraic and geometric topology. He is a professor at the University of Münster. Life He completed his PhD in 1982 at the University of Warwick under the supervision of Brian Sanderson. He was then affiliated as a researcher with the Institute of Advanced Scientific Studies near Paris and the universities of Bielefeld, Edinburgh, and Göttingen. Michael Weiss (born 1958), is a jazz pianist and composer best known for his fifteen-year association with saxophonist Johnny Griffin. Weiss was born in Dallas, Texas. After completing a bachelor of music degree from Indiana University, Weiss moved to New York City in 1982. He toured that year with singer Jon Hendricks. He has worked with George Coleman, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Slide Hampton, Tom Harrell, Jimmy Heath, Charles McPherson, and Gerry Mulligan. In 2000 he was the grand prize winner in the BMI/Thelonious Monk Institute's Composers Competition. In 1989, he won second prize in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition, and in 2002, he received a composition commission from Chamber Music America. He began a class-action lawsuit against hospital syringe distributors in America, in the hope of protecting nurses from accidental syringe sticks. Early life and education Michael Weiss was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of lawyer Leon and recruiting company founder Marilou. He has one sibling, brother Daniel.
