Michael Stewart (golfer)
Michael Stewart (born 5 March 1990) is a Scottish professional golfer and Challenge Tour player. Amateur career Stewart had a successful amateur career and won the 2010 Scottish Amateur and 2011 South African Amateur. In 2008, he was runner-up at the St Andrews Links Trophy and in 2011, he lost the final of The Amateur Championship to Bryden Macpherson, 3 and 2. Stewart won the 2009 European Amateur Team Championship with Scotland, beating an England team led by Tommy Fleetwood in the final 5–2. He was part of the Great Britain and Ireland team at the 2011 Walker Cup that beat a U.S. side featuring Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay. In 2008, Stewart enrolled at East Tennessee State University where he majored in sports management and played with the East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's golf team alongside Séamus Power and Rhys Enoch. Troon
Troon is a town in South Ayrshire, situated on the west coast of Ayrshire in Scotland, about north of Ayr and northwest of Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Troon has a port with freight services and a yacht marina. Up until January 2016, P&O Ferries, P&O operated a seasonal ferry service to Larne. In May 2006, a ferry service to Campbeltown was added, although this was withdrawn the following year. European Boys' Team Championship
The European Boys' Team Championship (Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy) is a European amateur team golf championship for men up to 18 organized by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1980 and it has been played annually since. Since the European Youths' Team Championship, for men under 22, was discontinued in 2006, due to the trend of players reaching elite level at an earlier age, the European Boys' Team Championship has been regarded as the most important junior team event in Europe outside the British Isles. Many European players on the world's leading professional golf tours have played in the event during their early careers. Men's Home Internationals (golf)
The Men's Home Internationals were an amateur team golf championship for men between the four Home Nations. Ireland was represented by the whole island of Ireland.The event was organised by The R&A. The inaugural event was held in 1932 and the venue cycled between the four nations. The winning team received the Raymond Trophy, presented by Raymond Oppenheimer, an ex-England and Walker Cup captain, in 1952. In 2022 the match was replaced by a combined Women's and Men's Home Internationals. History An England–Scotland Amateur Match had been first played in 1902.
