Michael Scheickl
Michael Scheickl (born 23 March 1957) is an Austrian singer, songwriter and record producer. In 1981, he recorded a solo album under the pseudonym Fritz. He was one half of the duo Mess, who represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1982 with the song " Sonntag". The Eurovision Song Contest 1982 was the 27th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Harrogate, United Kingdom, following the country's victory at the with the song "Making Your Mind Up" by Bucks Fizz. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the contest was held at the Harrogate International Centre on 24 April 1982 and was hosted by English TV presenter and newsreader Jan Leeming. Eighteen countries took part in the contest with deciding not to enter this year. Due the downsizing of their national broadcasters, lost the rights to participating at the contest and so was also forced to withdraw. The winner was with the song "Ein bißchen Frieden" by Nicole. Joy (Austrian Band)
Joy is an Austrian pop band, best known for the hits "Touch by Touch" and "Valerie". History Early years The band was formed in Bad Aussee, Austria. Andreas Schweitzer (born 26 February 1960), Alfred Jaklitsch (born 22 January 1960) and Manfred Temmel (born 25 February 1959) met during High School. At that time, they played in different amateur bands together. But, after graduation, they pursued into different careers: Andy was a policeman, Freddy taught German language and history at school, and Manfred was a popular DJ in ''Orion'' disco club in Traunreut, Germany. They met again in 1984, and decided to focus their joint efforts on a professional musical career. Quickly enough, they got a record deal with an Austrian label ''OK Musica''. Martin Brem (born 23 April 1959), also known by his stage name Marty Brem, is an Austrian-born former singer, record executive and entrepreneur currently active in Salzburg and Los Angeles. He is known to wider audiences for his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, representing Austria in 1980 as a member of the band Blue Danube and as a soloist in 1981, singing " Wenn du da bist" amidst somewhat unusual choreography performed by female dancers in an equally unusual selection of costumes. After Brem's Eurovision exploits, he undertook various musical ventures, which included new wave and punk music. Brem also became a music journalist, and joined Philip Morris as a marketing consultant 1988, only to return to the music industry in 1992 as marketing director for Phonogram/Universal.
