Michael Sarver
Michael Sarver (born March 28, 1981) is an American singer who was the tenth place finalist on the eighth season of ''American Idol''. Early life Sarver was born in Sulphur, Louisiana, and graduated from Sulphur High School. He has two children, McKenna and Grayson. He has written over 1100 songs for himself and others since the age of 14, and has also been singing since he was an adolescent. Prior to ''American Idol'', Sarver worked as a roughneck on an oil rig. ''American Idol'' Overview Sarver auditioned for the eighth season of ''American Idol'' in Phoenix, Arizona. During the first semi-finals week, he was able to garner enough votes to allow him to continue, beating fellow contestant Anoop Desai for the third spot by just over 20,000 votes. Sulphur (french: Soufre) is a city in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The population was 21,809 in 2020. The eighth season of ''American Idol'' premiered on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, and concluded on May 20, 2009. Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson continued to judge the show's contestants, along with Ryan Seacrest as host. The season introduced Kara DioGuardi as the fourth judge on the ''Idol'' panel. It was also Abdul's final season as a judge. Kris Allen, a native of Conway, Arkansas, was announced the winner of the competition on May 20, 2009, defeating runner-up Adam Lambert after nearly 100 million votes were cast. This was the second season where both of the final two contestants had been in the bottom three or two at least once before the finale, with the first being season three. Gavin Shane DeGraw (born February 4, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter. DeGraw rose to fame with his song "I Don't Want to Be" from his debut album '' Chariot'' (2003); the song became the main theme song for The WB drama series ''One Tree Hill''. Other notable singles from his debut album were " Chariot" and " Follow Through". His second album, '' Gavin DeGraw'', was released in 2008 and included the top-20 single "In Love with a Girl". ''Chariot'' is the debut studio album by singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw, first released on July 22, 2003, on J Records. It was re-released in 2004 as ''Chariot (Stripped)'', which included all of the original ''Chariot'' content as well as a bonus disc. Boyz II Men (pronounced ''boys to men''), also known as B2M, is an American vocal harmony group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, best known for emotional ballads and a cappella harmonies. They are currently a trio composed of baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman. "Thank You" is a new jack swing song by American R&B/soul group Boyz II Men, released as the third single from their second studio album, '' II'' (1994). The song was co-produced by Dallas Austin and Boyz II Men. It did not perform as well as its predecessor and reached a peak position of #21 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the Hot Singles Sales on March 18, 1995, and March 25, 1995, respectively, and also reached #17 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs.
