Michael James Rowland (born 15 January 1964) is an Australians, Australian film director. Early years Prior to his screen career, Rowland studied graphic design at the North Adelaide School of Art in South Australia and started his early working life as a designer and illustrator specialising in the arts. His list of freelance clients grew to include Sony (US), World of Music, Arts and Dance, Womad (International) and Peter Gabriel (UK). He also held the position of Art Director with the Adelaide Festival of Arts (1987–93) a job which saw him work with some notable artists, including Peter Brook, 7th Earl of Harewood, Cheek by Jowl, Jan Fabre, Sankai Juku, Andy Goldsworthy, Winton Marsalis, the Kronos Quartet, Zubin Mehta and Pierre Boulez. He has won numerous awards for his design and illustration, including the 1992 AADC's Master's Chair. Michael Rowland (born 8 July 1968) is an Australian television news presenter and journalist, currently working for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, having previously been an American affairs correspondent in Washington. Additionally, he has been a financial, economic and political reporter for several Australian News channels. Rowland has edited and written several articles and books, such as ''Black Summer'' (2021) and "ABC news channel in 2020". He is currently co-host of the ABC's morning program ''News Breakfast'' alongside Lisa Millar, and is the network's senior presenter. His frequent collaborations include presenters from ''News Breakfast'', including Millar, sports presenter Tony Armstrong, finance presenter Madeleine Morris, and weather presenter Nate Byrne. Michael Rowland (jockey)
Michael Francis Rowland (September 12, 1963 – February 9, 2004) was an American jockey. He was born in Saratoga Springs, New York. During his career, Rowland won 3,997 races. Rowland died at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio from head injuries suffered during a race on February 4 at Turfway Park, when his mount broke down and collapsed. Two other jockeys were injured. He was placed on life support, but never regained consciousness. Turfway Park established the Michael F. Rowland Fund, as well as the Michael F. Rowland Award to honor the jockey who best exemplifies Rowland's work ethic, professionalism, and perseverance. Mike Rowland is a wheelwright and coachbuilder located in Colyton, Devon. Biography The business was established in 1964. Rowland and his son Greg run their own family-owned business together. They were awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment in January 2005 by Queen Elizabeth II as her wheelwrights and coachbuilders. All work is still done by hand in the traditional way; that is the same since hundreds of years. For the 2011 Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, Rowlands was responsible for the maintenance of the wheels of the royal and state chariots and carriages. Rowlands also build wheels for canons and take other orders in for the construction or maintenance of carriages and coaches. Carriages are built by eye.
