Michael Ramodibedi
Michael Mathealira Ramodibedi (24 April 1945 – 15 August 2019) was a jurist from Lesotho who has served on the courts of several Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth countries in Africa. A graduate of the University of Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland, he began his law career in Lesotho, and would later go on to hold positions on the bench there as well as in Seychelles and Botswana. He was the Chief Justice of Swaziland until 17 June 2015, when he was fired by King Mswati III for misconduct. Career Early career Ramodibedi began practising as a lawyer in 1974. In 1986 he was named a judge of the High Court of Lesotho. He served on Lesotho's Land Policy Review Commission in 1999 and 2000. He joined the Court of Appeal of Lesotho as an acting judge in 2000 and a permanent judge in 2002. Mswati III
Mswati III (born Makhosetive; 19 April 1968) is the king (Swazi: Ngwenyama, Ingwenyama yemaSwati) of Eswatini and head of the Swazi royal family. He was born in Manzini in the Protectorate of Swaziland to King Sobhuza II and one of his younger wives, Ntfombi Tfwala. He was crowned as Mswati III, Ingwenyama and King of Swaziland, on 25 April 1986 at the age of 18, thus becoming the youngest ruling monarch in the world at that time. Together with his mother, Ntfombi Tfwala, now Queen Mother (''Ndlovukati''), he rules the country as an absolute monarch. Mswati III is known for his practice of polygamy (although at least two wives are appointed by the state) and currently has 15 wives. Yvonne Mokgoro
Yvonne Mokgoro (born 19 October 1950) is a former justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and wife to Job Mokgoro. Career Mokgoro was appointed to the bench in 1994 by Nelson Mandela. Mokgoro is a board member of the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria and is the current Chairperson of the South African Law Reform Commission. She was educated at North-West University from which she graduated with a B.luris degree in 1982, an LLB degree two years later, and an LLM in 1987. She also studied at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in the US, where she was awarded another LLM degree. In December 2021, Mokgoro was appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council as a chairperson of Racial Justice Body, a new mechanism to examine systemic racism and the excessive use of force against Africans and people of African descent by law enforcement worldwide.
