Michael Peoples
Scott Michael Peoples (born September 5, 1991) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. He is currently the pitching coach for the Arkansas Travelers of the Seattle Mariners organization. Career Cleveland Indians The Cleveland Indians chose Peoples in the 14th round in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. He split the 2013 season between the Single-A Lake County Captains and the High-A Carolina Mudcats, accumulating a 2–6 record and 4.14 ERA in 19 games. He spent the 2014 season in Carolina, pitching to a 7–8 record and 4.34 ERA in 101.2 innings pitched. He remained in High-A ball the next year with the Lynchburg Hillcats, pitching to a 11–4 record and 3.42 ERA in 25 appearances. Pitcher (baseball)
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum. Lynchburg Hillcats
The Lynchburg Hillcats are a Minor League Baseball team in Lynchburg, Virginia that plays in the Carolina League and is the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. They were a farm team of the Atlanta Braves from 2011 to 2014, the Cincinnati Reds in 2010, and the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1995 to 2009. The Hillcats play home games at Calvin Falwell Field; refurbished and renamed in 2004, the stadium seats 4,291 fans. In May 2016, the franchise announced that they would rebrand after the season.
