Michael Ciaran Parker (born 4 May 1952), known by his stage name Michael Barrymore, is an English actor, comedian and television presenter of game shows and light entertainment programmes on British television in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Mike Parker (born December 1966, in Birmingham) is a British travel writer, living near Machynlleth in mid Wales. He grew up in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and graduated in 1989 in English and Drama from Westfield College, University of London. He was the co-author of the '' Rough Guide to Wales'', and has also written books on four British cities, and on the gay scenes of Scotland, Ireland and Northern England. In addition, Parker has worked as a stand-up comedian. After moving to Wales in spring 2000, he became involved in television, writing and presenting a one-off Saint David's Day special for HTV Wales in 2002. He attended Appalachian State University and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with honors in Creative Writing. Parker received his MFA from the University of Virginia in 1988. Parker is known for rediscovering a "nameless Roman" type font and preparing it as a ''Starling series'' for Font Bureau. Life and career Parker was born in London in 1929, the son of a geologist Russell Johnson Parker. Russell Parker was murdered in the 1949 bombing of Canadian Pacific Air Lines Flight 108. He had intended to follow his father into the profession, but was prevented from doing do due to colorblindness. He attended Yale University. Paul Michael Parker (born October 31, 1949) is an American businessman and politician from the U.S. state of Mississippi. He served in Congress as a member of the Democratic Party and, later, the Republican Party. He later served as Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Army, with authority over the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
