Michael McLeod (ice Hockey)
Michael McLeod (born February 3, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League (NHL). McLeod was selected by the Devils with the 12th pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior McLeod played minor hockey with the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League. In 2014, he led his team to capture the OHL Cup and was awarded the Tim Adams Memorial Trophy as the OHL Cup's most valuable player. McLeod was drafted by the Mississauga Steelheads in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, and played with the Steelheads beginning with the 2014–15 OHL season. Professional On October 7, 2016, the Devils signed McLeod to a three-year entry-level contract. Michael McLeod (born September 6, 1959) is a Canadian politician, currently serving as a member of Parliament representing the Northwest Territories. He was first elected in the 2015 Canadian federal election, unseating Dennis Bevington, who was the incumbent New Democratic Party MP for the riding. McLeod was a former member of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories, Canada, as well as the former mayor of Fort Providence. Political career McLeod was born in Fort Providence, Northwest Territories. When he was 22, he served as a mayor of Fort Providence after being chosen by the local Dene council. McLeod first ran for a seat in the 1999 Northwest Territories general election. He won an upset election defeating Speaker Samuel Gargan to win the Deh Cho electoral district. Mike McLeod (''Michael James McLeod;'' born 25 January 1952 in Dilston, Northumberland) is a British former athlete who competed mainly in the 10,000 metres. Athletics career McLeod competed for Great Britain in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, United States in the 10,000 metres where he won the silver medal. McLeod only finished third but second placed Martti Vainio had been disqualified for taking anabolic steroids.
