Michael Mason (cricketer)
Michael James Mason (born 27 August 1974) is a former New Zealand cricketer, born in Carterton. He played Test matches and One Day Internationals for New Zealand. Domestic career He played domestic cricket for Central Districts. After recovering from an operation on a hernia during late 2008, he was back playing domestic cricket. He was also signed by the Kings XI Punjab for the Pepsi IPL 2013 as a replacement for the injured Ryan Harris. Mason's last match for Central Districts was on 12 February 2012. About a month before his retirement from the Central Districts, Mason helped complete what ''The West Australian'' thought might be a candidate for the "greatest cricket catch ever" by collaborating with teammate Bevan Small. Michael Robert Christopher Mason (born 30 September 1986) is a Canadian high jumper. The 2004 World Junior champion, he has represented Canada at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2012 Summer Olympics, 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships and the 2015 Pan American Games. His personal best for the event is 2.33 metres. Career He won the IAAF World Junior Championships gold medal in 2004. From Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, Mason is only the second Canadian to win a World Junior Championship gold medal, following Mark Boswell who won in 1996. Mason holds a number of provincial records previously held by retired Canadian high jumper and 1976 Olympic Silver Medallist Greg Joy, including the BC high school, junior and senior records. Michael Mason (born June 28, 1971) is an American former professional soccer player who spent his playing career in Germany. Club career Mason was born in Kassel, Germany, but holds a U.S. passport. He began playing at lower division clubs KSV Baunatal and KSV Hessen Kassel before being picked up by Hamburger SV in 1994. He played with the reserve team until 1996, when he made the first of a handful of first team appearances. In 1997, Mason's career hit its high point. He was playing Bundesliga football at Hamburg which led to U.S. national team Steve Sampson calling him up. That year, he earned five caps. He spent two years at FC St. Pauli, then played briefly with FC Gütersloh, getting picked up by FC Carl Zeiss Jena during the 1999–2000 season. Michael Atwood Mason (born 1966) is an American folklorist and museum professional. He served as CEO and Executive Director oPresident Lincoln's Cottage Up to February 2021 he was the Director of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. Early life and education Mason is the youngest of three children born to John Skain Mason and Ardath Mason Cade. Born in McCook, Nebraska, he was raised in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. He is divorced and has two children, Nicolas Stauffer Mason and Rhys Wingreen. Michael Paul Mason (born May 29, 1971, in Tulsa, Oklahoma), sometimes credited as Michael Mason, is an American writer, author, editor, and journalist. Literary work Mason's first book of non-fiction, ''Head Cases: Stories of Brain Injury and Its Aftermath'', chronicles the years he spent as a brain-injury case manager and tells the stories of twelve individuals who survived brain injury. While a contributing editor for ''Discover'' magazine, Mason wrote the article, "Dead Men Walking", which triggered a national debate about the treatment of brain-injured veterans of the Iraq War. As an independent radio producer, Mason has created works that have appeared on several public radio stations. Mason is the founding editor of This Land Press, a publication based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
