Al Stewart (bishop)
Alan "Al" Stewart (born 1959) is the National Director of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches in Australia. Education Stewart studied Commerce at the University of New South Wales. He worked in business for a time but later decided to go into Christian ministry. He trained at Moore Theological College. Theological career He was an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and oversaw the diocese's Wollongong region from 2007 until 2010. and served parishes in Tregear, New South Wales and Centennial Park. Matthias Media is an Australian evangelicalism, evangelical Christian publisher. The business was founded in 1988, and grew out of the ministry of Phillip Jensen and editor Tony Payne at St Matthias, Centennial Park, Sydney under the name St Matthias Press and Tapes. Many resources now published by Matthias Media were developed as part of the ministry of Campus Bible Study at the University of New South Wales. Since then the company has grown under the banner "Resources for growing Christians" and is now incorporated as a non-profit company under the name Matthias Media.
