Michael Liapis (curler)
Michalis Liapis ( el, Μιχάλης Λιάπης; born 8 May 1951) is a former Greek New Democracy politician and minister. Liapis was born in Athens to Konstantinos Liapis, a lawyer, and Antigoni Karamanli (1921–2010). His mother was a younger sister of Konstantinos Karamanlis, who was four times prime minister and twice president of Greece. This means that Liapis is a nephew as well as a first cousin to former prime ministers, the latter being Kostas Karamanlis. A graduate of the schools of law and political science of the University of Athens, Liapis attended postgraduate studies in law in Paris. He later qualified and practised as a lawyer in Greece. Christos Verelis
Christos Verelis ( el, Χρήστος Βερελής, born 3 June 1950) is a Greek politician. Born in Athens, was the Greek Minister for Transport and Communications from April 13, 2000, to March 10, 2004. Graduating from the German School of Athens, Christos Verelis studied chemistry at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and later on completed his Ph.D. in the chemistry of natural products in Germany. Christos Verelis speaks the languages English, German and French. In the general elections of 1996 and 2000, he was elected MP (PASOK) for Aetolia-Acarnania. Antonis Samaras
Antonis Samaras ( el, Αντώνης Σαμαράς, ; born 23 May 1951) is a Greek politician who served as 14th Prime Minister of Greece from 2012 to 2015. A member of the New Democracy party, he was its president from 2009 until 2015. Samaras started his national political career as Minister of Finance in 1989; he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1989 to 1992 (with a brief interruption in 1990) and Minister of Culture in 2009. Samaras was previously best known for a 1993 controversy in which he effectively caused the New Democracy government, of which he was a member, to fall from power. In spite of this, he rejoined the party in 2004 and was elected to its leadership in a closely fought intra-party election in late 2009. He was the seventh party leader since it was founded in 1974.
