Michael Leong
Michael Patrick Leong (born 18 March 1986) is a Solomon Islands former professional tennis player. He played Davis Cup tennis for the combined regional Pacific Oceania team and amassed a team record 19 singles wins. The most successful tennis player to come out of the Solomon Islands, Leong was the first person from his country to appear at Wimbledon (juniors in 2004) and in 2008 became the only Solomon Islander to be ranked by the ATP. His best ranking was in doubles (536 in the world) and he won two ITF Futures doubles titles. Pacific Games
The Pacific Games (French: Jeux du Pacifique), is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from Oceania. The inaugural Games took place in 1963 in Suva, Fiji, and most recently in 2019 in Apia, Samoa. The Games were called the South Pacific Games from 1963 to 2007. The Pacific Games Council (PGC) organises the Games and oversees the host city's preparations. Athletes with a disability are included as full members of their national teams. In each sporting event, gold medals are awarded for first place, silver medals are awarded for second place, and bronze medals are awarded for third place. Nine different cities in six countries and territories have hosted the Pacific Games. Sadik Kadir (born 27 July 1981) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Biography Originally from the Indonesian city of Surabaya, Kadir later grew up in Sydney. Kadir made two main draw appearances at the Australian Open. At the 2005 Australian Open he and Shannon Nettle received a wild card for the men's doubles event. They were beaten in the first round by ninth seeds Cyril Suk and Pavel Vízner. He also featured in the main draw of the 2006 Australian Open, in the men's doubles with Todd Reid. Again facing an all Czech pairing in the opening round, Kadir and his partner narrowly lost to Ivo Minář and Jiří Vaněk. On the junior circuit, Yang reached a career-high combined ranking of No. 1 in 2008, when he won the French Open singles title against Polish player Jerzy Janowicz in two sets, and the Australian Open and Wimbledon doubles titles alongside Hsieh Cheng-peng.
