Michael Jones (activist)
Michael Jones (born September 24, 1964) is an American web and application developer, music producer, and author. From 1984 to 1988, he was an activist credited with enabling the gay and lesbian community of Indianapolis to become more active and visible. During his time of advocacy in Indiana, he was involved in helping Ryan White and working to advance the rights of gays and lesbians. History On Friday, June 26, 1984, Jones had been socializing with friends on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. The area was well known as a gathering place for young gay males and had become a target for police activity. Police had been caught videotaping gays and lesbians there. Ball State University (Ball State, State or BSU) is a public university, public research university in Muncie, Indiana. It has two satellite facilities in Fishers, Indiana, Fishers and Indianapolis. LGBT Rights In Indiana
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in the U.S. state of Indiana enjoy most of the same rights as other people. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Indiana since October 6, 2014, when the U.S. Supreme Court refused to consider an appeal in the case of ''Baskin v. Bogan''. A landmark April 2017 court ruling held that discrimination based on sexual orientation is tantamount to discrimination on account of "sex", as defined by the ''Civil Rights Act of 1964''. The ruling, issued by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, establishes sexual orientation as a protected characteristic in the workplace, forbidding unfair discrimination. Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior between members of the same sex or gender. The middle class refers to a class of people in the middle of a social hierarchy, often defined by occupation, income, education, or social status. The term has historically been associated with modernity, capitalism and political debate.
