Michael Igoe
Michael Lambert Igoe (April 16, 1885 – August 21, 1967) was an American politician who served as a United States representative from Illinois, an Illinois state representative, a United States District Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and a United States district judge of the Northern District of Illinois. Education and career Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Igoe was educated in the parochial schools and De La Salle Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He received a Bachelor of Laws from Georgetown Law in Washington, D.C. in 1908. He was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Chicago from 1908 to 1939. He was Chief Assistant United States Attorney of the Northern District of Illinois from 1915 to 1917. He was a member of the board of South Park Commissioners from 1924 to 1932. Senior Status
Senior status is a form of semi-retirement for United States federal judges. To qualify, a judge in the Federal judiciary of the United States, federal court system must be at least 65 years old, and the sum of the judge's age and years of service as a federal judge must be at least 80 years. As long as senior judges carry at least a 25 percent caseload or meet other criteria for activity, they remain entitled to maintain a staffed office and chambers, including a secretary and their normal complement of law clerks, and they continue to receive annual cost-of-living increases. Senior judges vacate their seats on the bench, and the President of the United States, president may appoint new full-time judges to fill those seats. Henry Horner
Henry Horner (November 30, 1878 – October 6, 1940) was an American politician. Horner served as the 28th Governor of Illinois, serving from January 1933 until his death in October 1940. Horner was noted as the first Jewish governor of Illinois. Early life Horner was born Henry Levy to Solomon Abraham Levy and Dilah Horner in Chicago. He assumed the Horner surname after his parents divorced in 1883. He attended the University of Chicago. Horner attended IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and received his LLB in 1898.
