Michael Hogue
Michael Hogue (born 31 March 1975) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s. Primarily a , he was a foundation player for the North Queensland Cowboys. Background Born in Townsville, Queensland, Hogue played his junior rugby league for Townsville Brothers and attended Ignatius Park College. Playing career In 1994, Hogue represented the Queensland under-19 side, before signing with the North Queensland Cowboys. In Round 14 of the 1995 ARL season, Hogue made his first grade debut for the Cowboys in a 10–40 loss to the Penrith Panthers. A week later, he played in the club's first ever home win, a 31–12 victory over the Western Suburbs Magpies. The Western Suburbs Magpies (legal name: Western Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club Ltd) are an Australian rugby league football club based in the western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in 1908, Wests, as they are commonly referred to, were one of the nine foundation clubs of the first New South Wales Rugby League competition in Australia. The Penrith Panthers are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith that competes in the NRL. The team is based west of the centre of Sydney, at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Penrith are the current reigning NRL Premiers, having won the title four times. Penrith were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition in 1967. Penrith struggled for almost twenty years before finally reaching their first finals series. The 1995 ARL premiership was the 88th season of professional rugby league football in Australia, and the first to be run by the Australian Rugby League following the hand-over of the Premiership's administration by the New South Wales Rugby League.
