Michael Hodges (Royal Navy Officer)
Admiral Sir Michael Henry Hodges, (29 September 1874 – 3 November 1951) was a senior Royal Navy officer who went on to be Second Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Personnel. Naval career Hodges joined the Royal Navy as a cadet in the training ship HMS ''Britannia'' in 1887. In late 1899, during the Second Boer War, he was landed in South Africa as a member of 's naval brigade and sent to defend the town of Ladysmith. He was appointed in command of the destroyer HMS ''Flirt'' on 18 September 1900, when she served in the Portsmouth instructional flotilla, and left her on 8 January 1901 to take command of the destroyer HMS ''Crane'', which replaced ''Flirt'' in the flotilla. He was promoted to commander on 26 June 1902, and the following day posted to as flag officer to the Board of Admiralty during the coronation fleet review, but the appointment was later cancelled when the coronation was postponed. The film rights for ''The Puller'' were purchased by Sonny Mallhi, producer of ''The Strangers'' and ''The Lake House''. ''The Puller'' also received a five star review from SF Signal. Foreign publishing rights were purchased by Luzifer Verlag, and The Puller was translated and released in Germany. His follow-up novel was ''The Invasive'', a science fiction novel about alien ecosystem replacement in Montana. Michael Hodges is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, composer, executive music producer and music executive best known for his work in music for film and television most notably on ''Blade Runner 2049'' (2017), '' Point Break'' (2015), '' The Expanse'' (2015–2020) and '' Pete the Cat'' (2017–present). He has received three Grammy nominations for his work as songwriter and producer. Michael Tommy Hodges (29 July 1932 – 17 December 2022) was a British screenwriter, film and television director, playwright and novelist. His films as writer/director include ''Get Carter'' (1971), ''Pulp'' (1972), ''The Terminal Man'' (1974) and '' Black Rainbow'' (1989). He co-wrote and was the original director on '' Damien: Omen II''. As director, his films include ''Flash Gordon'' (1980) and ''Croupier'' (1998). Early life Hodges was born in Bristol on 29 July 1932, and was raised in Salisbury and Bath. He qualified as a chartered accountant and spent two years of national service on the lower deck of a Royal Navy minesweeper. Career Hodges found a job in British television as a teleprompter operator. The job allowed him to observe the workings of the studios, and gave him time to start writing scripts. He served as the head football coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1992 to 1997, compiling a record of 35–30. Coaching career Hodges served as an assistant coach and a defensive coordinator at UMass for 14 years, under three different head coaches. Michael Hodges (born September 29, 1986) is an American football coach who is the linebackers coach for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). Playing career Hodges initially played college football at the United States Air Force Academy, before transferring to Blinn College in Brenham, Texas before opting to walk-on at Texas A&M. As a senior, he was awarded the Aggie Heart Award, the highest honor given to a senior.
