Michael Hendrix
R. Michael Hendrix is an American graphic designer and entrepreneur. He is a Partner and the Global Design Director of IDEO, based in the Cambridge, MA studio where he practices brand strategy, creative direction, and graphic design. He cites a diagram by Charles Eames as a motivation for joining IDEO. He has been a recognized advocate and practitioner of design thinking since co-founding Tricycle Inc., a sustainable design firm in 2002, which was purchased by Shaw Industries in 2017. In 2021 he co-authored, ''Two Beats Ahead: What Musical Minds Teach Us About Innovation'', with Panos Panay, published bPublic Affairsin the US anin the UK. Hendrix teaches entrepreneurship at the Berklee College of Music where is also a co-founder of the Open Music Initiative, a program of the Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship. The Type Directors Club (TDC) is an international organization devoted to typography and type design, founded in 1946 in New York City. TDC believes that type drives culture, and that culture drives type—and is dedicated to cataloging, showcasing, and exhibiting typography worldwide. ''Fast Company'' is a monthly American business magazine published in print and online that focuses on technology, business, and design. It publishes six print issues per year. History ''Fast Company'' was launched in November 1995 by Alan Webber and Bill Taylor, two former ''Harvard Business Review'' editors, and publisher Mortimer Zuckerman. The publication's early competitors included '' Red Herring'', ''Business 2.0'' and ''The Industry Standard''. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums.
