Michael Kieran Harvey
Michael Kieran Harvey (born 7 July 1961) is an Australian pianist and composer whose career has been notable for its diversity and wide repertoire. He is renowned for commissioning, performing and composing new music. He has especially promoted the works of Australian composers, such as Carl Vine, most of whose piano music he has recorded and much of which was written for him. He is also particularly associated with the piano music of Olivier Messiaen. According to critic Clive O'Connell in ''The Age'': "Few Australian pianists can touch Michael Kieran Harvey, one of the most exciting exponents of contemporary music in the country". Michael Harvey Jr. (born 1 May 1979), better known as MC Harvey or simply Harvey, is a British rapper. He first came to fame in the early 2000s as a member of rap group So Solid Crew before then pursuing a solo career in 2008. In 2012, he was a contestant on ''Celebrity Big Brother 10''. Michael John Harvey (born 29 August 1958) is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter, composer, arranger and record producer. A multi-instrumentalist, he is best known for his long-term collaborations with Nick Cave, with whom he formed The Boys Next Door, The Birthday Party and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Early life Born in Rochester, Victoria, Australia, Harvey moved to the suburbs of Melbourne in his childhood. His father was a Church of England vicar, and the family lived adjacent to the father's church; first in Ormond and later in Ashburton. Harvey sang in the church choir from an early age. Weymouth and Melcombe Regis was a parliamentary borough in Dorset represented in the English House of Commons, later in that of Great Britain, and finally in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was formed by an Act of Parliament of 1570 which amalgamated the existing boroughs of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis. Until 1832, the combined borough continued to elect the four Members of Parliament (MPs) to which its constituent parts had previously been entitled; the Great Reform Act reduced its representation to two Members, and the constituency was abolished altogether in 1885, becoming part of the new South Dorset constituency. Michael Harvey (10 May 1694 – 3 October 1748), of Coombe, Surrey. and Clifton Maybank, near Milborne Port, Dorset was a British landowner and Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1717 and 1747. Harvey was the only surviving son of Edward Harvey of Coombe and his first wife He married after a settlement dated 23 April 1715, Rebecca Wolstenholme, daughter of Sir John Wolstenholme, 3rd Baronet, MP, of Edmonton, Middlesex. He inherited the Clifton Maybank estates from the widow of his cousin, Michael Harvey MP, in 1717. Michael Paul Harvey (born 21 September 1989) is a British taekwondo practitioner. He is a European champion at bantamweight (under 63 kilograms), a World silver medalist and has competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Early life Harvey grew up in Hyde, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom and as a teenager he attended Longdendale Community Language College in Hollingworth, Hyde. Clarence Edgar "Mick" Harvey (17 March 1921 – 6 October 2016) was a first-class cricketer and Australian Test cricket umpire. He was the brother of Test batsmen Merv and Neil Harvey. He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales and died in Brisbane, Queensland. Harvey made his first-class debut in 1948–49, playing in the first three matches of the season for Victoria as an opening batsman. However, he was unproductive, scoring only 91 runs at a batting average of 15.16, and was dropped. He moved to Queensland the following season in search of more opportunities and was selected in one match. Michael Harvey MBE (11 November 1931 – 18 October 2013) was an English lettering artist, teacher and writer specialising in lettering, type design and letter cutting. His work appears in many English cathedrals and on the National Gallery, London. Originally inspired by reading Eric Gill's ''Autobiography'', he worked as Reynolds Stone's assistant between 1955 and 1961. He then became a freelance, producing some 1500 hand-lettered book jackets over the next twenty years for major publishers such as Heinemann, The Bodley Head and Cambridge University Press.
